NOT A TOUR. NOT A RETREAT.
Something
in between.
Rooted Common creates intimate journeys for people who want more from travel.
We bring together a small group of curious travelers, thoughtfully design the experience, and create space for meaningful connection along the way.
You don't need to know anyone when you arrive.
That's the point.
Come for the destination. Leave with a story.
THE PEOPLE
Come Alone.
Leave Connected.
Rooted Common is designed for travelers joining solo or with one other person.
Eight people. One table. Seven nights of shared meals, long conversations, and the kind of experiences that don't happen alone.
Come solo. Come with someone. Either way, come open.
EVERY JOURNEY
You experience it.
We capture it.
Your journey includes a professional photographer — not to turn the trip into a photoshoot, but to capture the moments you didn't think to photograph.
The shared meals. The spontaneous adventures. The quiet moments in between.
EVERY JOURNEY BECOMES A STORY.
The best journeys aren't
measured in miles.
They're measured in the people you meet, the meals you share, and the stories you carry home.

I always thought I'd come back.
I grew up in the Philippines, and some of my strongest memories aren't really about destinations. They're about the way a day could unfold.
A boat to an island. A long lunch that somehow became dinner. People coming and going from the table. Someone knowing exactly where to go, and no one particularly concerned with what time we got back.
I didn't think much about those days when I was living them. They were just part of growing up. It's only with distance that I've come to understand how much they shaped me.
There was a generosity to them. People made room for one another. Someone always seemed to know a beautiful place, or what to order, or who else should be invited. Things were taken care of without making a show of being taken care of. And there was always time to stay a little longer.
I think I've been trying to find that feeling again ever since.
The first time I went to El Nido, I found a little of it there.
The limestone cliffs rising straight out of the water. Islands in every direction. Getting on a boat in the morning and realising that whatever plan you had for the day suddenly didn't matter very much.
I remember thinking, I need to come back here.
I told myself I would come back every year.
I didn't.
Life moved on. Years passed. But El Nido stayed with me. Not because of everything I did there, but because of how I felt while I was there.
"There are places you enjoy, and then there are places that quietly become part of you."
As I started thinking seriously about going back, I realised I didn't want to create a trip around everything we could possibly see or do.
I wanted to create the kind of week I would want to have there myself.
Eight people instead of a crowd. A place in El Nido I genuinely love. A boat waiting for us in the morning. Travelling north by private yacht instead of taking the fastest route. A night on an island along the way. Beautiful meals. Long conversations. And enough room in the day that if we find somewhere none of us wants to leave, we don't have to.
That's the journey I want to make.
And I'll be there with you.
Not as a tour guide. As your host.
I'll take care of the details, bring good people together, and hopefully create enough space for the things none of us could have planned.
Because I don't know what the best moment of those seven days will be.
I hope I don't.
Maybe it will be somewhere we planned to go. Maybe it will be a dinner that runs late. A conversation with someone you had only met a few days before. Or an island none of us were quite ready to leave.
Those are usually the moments I remember.
It took me longer than I expected to make it back.
I'm glad I waited until I had a reason that felt like this.
I'd love for you to come with me.
